Temeraire - an ensemble born from Liverpool’s music course - unveiled their first acoustic set within the warm, rustic embrace of Artefact , a venue that seemed to inhale and exhale with the band’s every note. The evening unfolded like a tapestry of brassy hues, yearning vocals, and a distinctly bohemian aura that lingered in the audience. The night had a gentle, handmade sound, each charming song being another step into their budding music career. Photo Credit: Will Litton

EP Review: Sisters - Bite
Bite, the debut EP from Liverpool based Sisters , is weird. It is for the people who use old sweet wrappers as bookmarks, and bunch handwritten notes at the bottom of their bag, and lose their black lipstick amongst those notes. These people need a soundtrack, and that is exactly what Bite is. It is frantic in places, with ‘ I can’t see’ cantering towards spiralling thoughts and late nights, and ‘ Sweetness of things’ tumbling into a flurry of panicked drums. It is gothic i

LIVE REVIEW: Courds @ The Cavern Club, Liverpool
In the legendary depths of Liverpool’s Cavern Club , a raw and invigorating sound bounced off the brick walls... rising Indie quartet Courds . We felt as if we were witnessing the start of something much larger than this basement they played as the Liverpool outfit delivered an electric performance. They launched into their set with ‘Fault Lines’ and ‘Cherry’ instantly drawing in the audience with low and melancholic verses that suddenly erupt into bursts of gritty power.

LIVE REVIEW: Euan Blackman @ Kazimier Stockroom, Liverpool
Resonant. Tender. Understated. The natural kinship between Euan Blackman and the Kazimier Stockroom is impossible to miss – their handcrafted harmony made for something quietly magical on the night of October 23rd. The Stockroom’s exposed brick and limited capacity allows for a rare, standing-only intimacy, making it a haven for the city’s creative undercurrent. Constantly reinventing itself, the Kaz dedicates itself to amplifying new talent and celebrating authenticity ov

EP REVIEW: Jeen - For The Romance
Jeen marks her return to the music industry with her eighth major solo project ‘For The Romance’ , a short, but powerful thirteen minute EP that refuses to neatly be placed into one genre. Transcending rock, pop, punk and indie, the record is a whirlwind of sound and emotion, demonstrating the Canadian songwriters' impressive ability to be versatile, but deeply personal at the same time. The lead single, ‘Look What You Did’ is instantly reminiscent of an 80’s synth pop tra

Discover Alabama powerhouses St Paul and the Broken Bones!
There are very few objective truths in life and I can’t attempt to give one about the meaning of life, or the existence of God, but there is one that I can say with absolute impunity. No song ever has been made worse by the addition of a brass section. St Paul and the Broken Bones seem to have been living by this since 2011, swaggering from low-lit streets in New Orleans to glittering speakeasies with little but a trombone and some cigarette stained vocals. 2025 LIVE RECAP: Dirty Nice @ District, Liverpool
As we head into the final months of 2025, we're looking back on some of our favourite live moments from the year... Wednesday the first of October was an uncharacteristically warm night for the start of Dirty Nice’s tour. Fitting, really, given they brought their warm Indie-Pop glow to District, playing to an eclectic crowd. The evening opened with two local acts. First up were Snatch , who kicked things off with a burst of loud, Grungy Hard Rock. Guitars snarled and screeche

2025 LIVE RECAP: Face It Tegan @ District
As we head into the final months of 2025, we're looking back on some of our favourite live moments from the year... Photo Credit: @rtm.shoots.you Our country is headed towards a recession, meaning only one thing, a lack of garages for kids to play music in. Thankfully, in September, Liverpool's District gave all of those with smudged eyeliner and dyed hair a place to scream into a hazy mess of guitars. Opening the night was Pain Program , who came hurtling in like a murder o

Alright (okay) have been around since 2021, since the release of their debut single ‘Coffee’. Since then, their style and sound, and presence in the local music scene has flourished. The opening track, largely instrumental, introduces you to the sonic direction of the project, opening with mysterious guitar melodies, before being i
