With blossoming guitars, and a kicking drum, we are jolted straight into the summery beat of Fright Year’s latest single, ‘Never Been Wrong’. Frontwoman Juliette Kelly’s vocals are rich from start to end, as she expresses a very specific security, a freedom in having certainty in oneself. The track is empowering as it joyously encourages you to extract your insecurities, uplifting us to a higher place of Indie enchantment, full of dance-ified indulgence.

It’s the sound you hear during the end credits of a film where all is resolved, hands are in the air, hair is blowing in the wind, especially as the track's chorus comes into play, containing the lyrics: “When I’ve never been wrong / Never been so right”. Kelly’s confident expression is bold, but not overly daring, as she breaks the shackles of uncertainty, delivering a tune that is beaming in self-assurance, but not cocky. Instrumentally, we are gifted with the glowing affection of both Pop and Rock. Up-tempo drumbeats, and a gliding guitar that retains the softness, while capturing the track’s edge, seamlessly fuse together, completing the very essence of the song. The Edinburgh-based group are commencing their tour across the UK currently, and ‘Never Been Wrong’ will no doubt be a highlight of their set!
