LIVE REVIEW: alright (okay) all-dayer @ Future Yard, Birkenhead
On October 29 th , alright (okay) released their long-anticipated EP ‘ Decent (Fine) ’ ( read our review here ). Then, on November 15 th we gathered to hear this enticing EP played live at Liverpool’s trendy venue Future Yard. Boasting five support acts, the gig was thrust into life by Grungy, eruptive three-piece colourwash , followed by the Metal-infused Face It Tegan and the haunting intensity of Broadsheet Speak , peaking with the Punky, radiant energy of Broken Down G

LIVE REVIEW: Yee Loi @ The Liverpool Philharmonic
In the grand Philharmonic Hall , where classical instruments usually whisper, true Rock ‘n Roll erupted with full force. Yee Loi, a fiercely talented, punk family trio, hit the stage with explosive energy and a gritty yet polished sound that felt refreshingly raw for the refined setting. Rebellious and punky, they joked, “I didn’t think they let people like us into places like these.” But it was clear; the moment they bursted upon the stage, they deserved and worked hard fo

LIVE REVIEW: Courds @ The Cavern Club, Liverpool
In the legendary depths of Liverpool’s Cavern Club , a raw and invigorating sound bounced off the brick walls... rising Indie quartet Courds . We felt as if we were witnessing the start of something much larger than this basement they played as the Liverpool outfit delivered an electric performance. They launched into their set with ‘Fault Lines’ and ‘Cherry’ instantly drawing in the audience with low and melancholic verses that suddenly erupt into bursts of gritty power.

LIVE REVIEW: Euan Blackman @ Kazimier Stockroom, Liverpool
Resonant. Tender. Understated. The natural kinship between Euan Blackman and the Kazimier Stockroom is impossible to miss – their handcrafted harmony made for something quietly magical on the night of October 23rd. The Stockroom’s exposed brick and limited capacity allows for a rare, standing-only intimacy, making it a haven for the city’s creative undercurrent. Constantly reinventing itself, the Kaz dedicates itself to amplifying new talent and celebrating authenticity ov

LIVE REVIEW: George and the Jungle @ Kazimier Stockroom, Liverpool
Following the recent release of their debut single ‘Coffee Cups’ , the five-piece George and the Jungle headed to the Kazimier Stockroom for a night of funk-infused fun. Based in Liverpool, this band combines groovy basslines with punctuated saxophone solos in their infectious live performances. LIVE REVIEW: Celeste @ The Dome, Liverpool
Celeste has never sounded more majestic and enthralling than on her new album ‘Woman Of Faces’ . We thought nothing could make those nine songs feel even more impactful until we got the chance to see her performing at them at her intimate album launch show at The Dome , Liverpool. Photo Credit: Paul Lang From the opening notes of the soulful ballad ‘This Is Who I Am’ the entire room was locked in, hanging on Celeste’s every word. This track was the perfect opening, introdu

2025 LIVE RECAP: Dirty Nice @ District, Liverpool
As we head into the final months of 2025, we're looking back on some of our favourite live moments from the year... Wednesday the first of October was an uncharacteristically warm night for the start of Dirty Nice’s tour. Fitting, really, given they brought their warm Indie-Pop glow to District, playing to an eclectic crowd. The evening opened with two local acts. First up were Snatch , who kicked things off with a burst of loud, Grungy Hard Rock. Guitars snarled and screeche

2025 LIVE RECAP: Face It Tegan @ District
As we head into the final months of 2025, we're looking back on some of our favourite live moments from the year... Photo Credit: @rtm.shoots.you Our country is headed towards a recession, meaning only one thing, a lack of garages for kids to play music in. Thankfully, in September, Liverpool's District gave all of those with smudged eyeliner and dyed hair a place to scream into a hazy mess of guitars. Opening the night was Pain Program , who came hurtling in like a murder o

Liverpool's Epstein Theatre reopens with stunning gala celebration!
On September 19th, what would have been Brian Epstein's 91st birthday, Liverpool celebrated the grand reopening of the Epstein Theatre (formerly the Neptune) with an evening that honoured the city’s rich musical heritage and promising future. The honour of cutting the ceremonial ribbon fell to Comedian Ricky Tomlinson before the show began, setting the tone for a night filled with nostalgia. The show commenced with a spirited performance from students at Liverpool Music Ac

LIVE REVIEW: Elliot James Reay @ Co-op Live, Manchester
We spend the majority of our evenings hopping between the sweaty basement venues that keep the local scene alive, scouring smaller shows for the best new emerging talent across the north-west. However, every once in a while it’s a good for us to experience the other end of the spectrum and sample the very biggest stars performing in sold out stadiums to get a taste of the shows the bands we cover dream of playing. LIVE REVIEW: The Royston Club @ Manchester Academy
The Royston Club have grown steadily over the last two years, cementing themselves as one of the current top indie newcomers. The release of their second album ‘ Songs For The Spine ’ earlier this year saw the Wrexham based foursome announce their biggest UK tour to date. It was in Manchester, a city that’s been central to their meteoric rise, where the boys announced their arrival to the scene.
