Chloe Slater is one of the most talked about Mancunian newcomers. The blend of Indie Pop melodies and poignant songwriting that talks about personal, social and political issues on her February EP 'Love Me Please' has been making waves. She has gone from playing small halls in Manchester to now taking on one of the city’s most famous venues on her own UK headline tour.

Last Wednesday, under the arches of Oxford Road train station, Chloe took to Gorilla on night four of her tour. The atmosphere was electric as she came out holding a Palestinian flag before heading straight into her punchy hit 'Tiny Screens', written about how fleeting internet fame can really be. She dipped between high energy tracks and moments of reflection beautifully.

Chloe felt both devoted to the sentiments of her songs and to the crowd in front of her, interacting playfully with fans while maintaining her critical viewpoint on political issues. It was wonderful to see how her songwriting connects to people, especially songs like 'Sucker', which is about resisting what society wants you to be and staying true to yourself or 'Harriet' which is a raw take on not being able to let go of a partners past.
Chloe’s stage presence was incredible, it was obvious that she sincerely enjoys engaging with her fans, even inviting one on stage to sing and dance by her side. This love for performing was infectious.
Chloe remarked that this show was the “most famous i’ve ever felt”, expressing her love for making music and her gratitude for all she has accomplished. Chloe Slater is a name you'll be seeing for many more years to come.
