Merseyside songwriter Miles Temp releases emotive new single 'Wasn't There'!

Emotion lies at the heart of Miles Temp’s songwriting. At just 17, the Merseyside based newcomer has already struck a chord with industry tastemakers and local press alike, captivating listeners with his uniquely poignant lyricism and beautifully delicate and thoughtful vocal style.

His new release ‘Wasn’t There’ (Out April 19th) showcases an even greater depth of songwriting maturity, instrumental finesse and lyrical nouse.

The soothing acoustics roll along throughout the track, oozing with contemplative sentiment. The bright yet subtle tone and muted melody of this guitar part creates a dreamy atmosphere that draws the listener in and allows Miles’ vocals to drift on top, taking centre stage.

These vocals begin relatively low-key, building an insular, melancholic tension yet the personal lyrical ideas and warm, angelic backing harmonies hint at something bigger. Indeed, as the song goes on, his vocals grow, hitting some beautifully powerful and passion notes that truly soar while also leaving room to dip back down into introspective subtlety.

This vocal versatility and ability to stir such emotion shows a talent way beyond his years and we can’t wait to see what he’s got in store next.

See Miles Temp live at Liverpool Sound City on May 4th.
