Ending a twelve-year hiatus, Liverpool-based band Secret Garden Gathering bloom anew with their latest release, ‘Is-Y-Deri’; a five-track EP recorded live in North Wales. The title, which translates from Welsh to ‘Beneath The Oak’, reflects both the physical setting of the recording as well as the grounded, atmospheric quality of the project.

This stunning new release sets the tone for their blossoming return, carving out an enticingly unique dreamlike sound that seems to draw from early Shoegaze bands such as Slowdive, while still feeling fresh and new. The band were previously active between 2010-2013, touring with established acts such as Low Anthem and Wave Pictures prior to their hiatus.

Though modest in length, ‘Is-Y-Deri’ feels expansive and encapsulates a vision of an ethereal dream, each track a stepping stone through a winding path. The opening track, ‘Talking Numb3rs’, sets the tone for the EP with a hazy Indie-Rock sound reminiscent of early Shoegaze, and it carries over onto the second track, ‘Fallen Leaves’. The third and fourth tracks dissolve into a more solemn, haunting sound led by slow drums and hypnotic guitar, and the EP finishes with a final burst of stunning vocals in the calm and introspective finale of ‘You are the Darkness after my Dawn’.

Is-Y-Deri’ releases across all platforms on the 4th July 2025, welcoming new listeners and reawakening themselves to old fans.
