In the midst of a stacked summer of festivals, Wet Leg have dropped their sophomore album ‘moisturizer’, packing a punch of the chaotic energy we never doubted the Alt-Rock group would provide once again. The highly anticipated follow-up to their self-titled album released back in 2022 reminds us once again just how rare the Isle of Wight five-piece are. With two Brits, three Grammys and half a billion streams to their name, Wet Leg have stayed true to their eccentric sound with witty lyrics and catchy riffs galore to keep us company this summer.

Immediately from the opening track ‘CPR’ the band set the tone for us, with its daring lyricism displaying they aren’t afraid to go bolder. This confident feel is brilliantly utilised on lead single ‘catch these fists’, an instant anthem with the infectious bass and confrontational chorus “I don’t want your love / I just wanna fight”.

Alongside these punchy tracks, the tone manoeuvres into love-sick sincerity with ‘davina mccall’ and ‘pond song’ conveying the feeling of being smitten. This sets up the closing track ‘u and me at home’, a sweet conclusion with soft vocals that echo the feelings of being content, a peaceful round-up of the rollercoaster of feelings ‘moisturiser’ eloquently describes.

Wet Leg’s confidence soars throughout the album with personal anecdotes woven into their hypnotic instrumentation, keeping their distinctive sound whilst not straying from vulnerability. ‘moisturiser’ displays the complexities of love, with feelings of confusion, infatuation and desire that will resonate with listeners in their own unique ways.

With an abundance of tour dates around the world and a stop at Mountford Hall on November 15th, we can’t wait to see what Wet Leg have in store as they continue to make strides and be unapologetically themselves.
