Having already played at sold out shows at Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach, Manchester's The Deaf Institute and The Victoria Dalston in London, Welsh newcomers WRKHOUSE are making waves in the Indie scene.
Their debut single 'Getaway' proved just why they are being so hotly talked about. Supremely smooth vocals and light Indie grooves lull you into a gentle melodic flow that may remind you of Foals. The chorus then raises the intensity of the track tenfold, bringing in huge rock stabs and a soaring synth sound that is bright yet moody in its tone. This combination builds a wall of sound that the vocals can float on top of and create a huge Indie atmosphere.
Now, their follow up single 'Snow' has cemented their place as one of the most exciting new acts! Again, what stands out is the contrast of atmospheres. Some sections are filled with winding guitar lines and dreamy synth textures yet it often builds to a more anthemic and expansive sound full of crashing drums and expressive vocal lines that will have you screaming at the top of your lungs. This tonal and emotive variety highlights their songwriting qualities and sets them up to have a huge 2024.
