LONG ISLAND are back again with another infectious indie-pop single, which is sure to be the song of the summer. ‘young’ comes as part of their upcoming EP, and with it being the last single before the release, it definitely needed to pack a punch, and it has no doubt delivered. A cry to live in the moment, the song is a warning to not waste your youth and to revel in the freedom of it.
Much like their last single, ‘just another day’, LONG ISLAND have managed to flawlessly marry catchy hooks with genuine and serious lyricism. The pre chorus is especially hard-hitting: “Look me in the eyes and tell me I’m alright now cause I don’t wanna die, at least not in my mother’s house”. However, the bright production and infectious rhythm make us feel that it’s all going to be okay. The track gives serious sunset drive vibes.
