Feeling almost haunting, music resembling white noise opens Lizzie Esau’s newest track ‘Bugs’ before a chorus crafted with explosive vocals and an intoxicating melody.

We know from Esau’s recent EP ‘Spilling Out The Truth’ she isn’t afraid of sharing her intimate thoughts. Nothing has changed on her first release since where she tackles facing a dry patch in creativity and that well known feeling of losing faith in yourself. Esau’s lyrics are authentic and vulnerable, “my head is full of bugs” she declares with such passion that you understand her raw feeling of insecurity.
Distorted and intense, the final verse showcases Lizzie's growing passion and confidence, similar to the likes of Swim School and Coach Party. Almost overpowered for a moment by fierce guitar riffs and a strong drum beat, her voice is soon out of control. Merciless, she lets out the frustration that’s been living inside her head for far too long.
It’s not hard to see that Lizzie isn’t planning on slowing down anytime soon. Teasing what’s still to come ‘Bugs’ is an enticing return, intertwining unfiltered feelings and polished guitar.
