Touring off the back of her brilliant release, ‘Dancing At The Edge Of The World’, Scotland's own Brooke Combe is an absolute treat to listen to in all formats. Summery, joyful and refreshingly new, her live show certainly does not disappoint.

In a crowded Arts Club, Brooke took to the stage, getting stuck into the set with a fantastic opening number in ‘This Town’ setting the pace for the evening. The band was buzzing, the atmosphere was upbeat and there was an ease to the performances, everything just went right. We were treated to old numbers in a thumping ‘Talkin’ Bout Heartaches’, new numbers and, before an electrifying cover of The Isley Brothers’ ‘Summer Breeze’, a touching and intimate performance of ‘L.M.T.F.A’ helped us cool off for a second.

Just before the inevitable encore, we were treated to a pleasingly cinematic and high-octane rendition of ‘Butterflies’. Energetic and striking, it felt like a rather natural end to the gig yet as they bounded back on stage the excitement continued. Similar to ‘This Town’, the encore opened with a faster track in ‘The last time’, which is ever so catchy and an all round fun listen. Despite the main set being full of many classics and bangers, Brooke’s ability to deliver even more in the encore really speaks to the strength of her discography. Ending with ‘Dancing At The Edge Of The World’, the show felt perfectly tied up and satisfyingly concluded.

Overall, a real treat of a live show. The band was amazing, and Brooke is undoubtedly a brilliant performer. Set to play some big venues all over the UK on her upcoming tour, make it a requirement that you go and see her live. You will not be disappointed.
