Straight off the back of their second EP release, The Kites have once again delivered a belter in the form of their new single 'Comeback Kid' confirming that nothing seems to slow down as they just keep on exceeding expectations.
The song opens with a distinct guitar riff accompanied by carefully placed drums, stripped-back yet powerful. The vocals launch into the first verse joined by heavier rhythm guitar and bass, instantly establishing the song's energy. Like usual, the effortlessly captivating melodies, sung by Joe Staniforth, are an essential part of this song, with rapid-fire lyrics delivering an exhilarating punch. During the lively chorus, all instruments are at maximum capacity, driven by the thunderous kick and ringing crashes of the drums.
The seamless transition into the half-time stabs shows a wonderful display of musicianship from all four band members. This is then followed by a resounding drum fill to take us to the final minute of the song. Full of emotion and passion, every aspect of this superb song blends perfectly together.
