AMASAMA is the bold and playful brainchild of Rie Fu and Hikaru Ishizaki; two creative minds that channel stylised grit and add sparkle to dark narratives to offer up tracks overloaded with instrumental chaos and audacious artistic soundscapes.

The Japanese Alt-rock outfit’s latest offering ‘Tissue’ falls nothing short of such, as a theatrical expression of sonic protest against gender roles, social expectations, and the arbiters of a punky ballad.
The duo have infused a sense of prickly electricity and unfathomable energy into the new single. It’s in-your-face and totally shameless as it blurs the lines between anthemic lyrical work and 80s synth, paired with distorted, larger than life guitar riffs and an unexpectedly catchy rhythm, courtesy of a rogue cowbell, naturally.
ASAMASAMA don’t hide much beneath the surface, and their unique approach to instrumental dynamism offers a breath of fresh air within a soundscape dominated by musical conformity.
