York based indie band, Glass Caves has been pumping out tune after tune, with their new single, 'Making Waves', demonstrating the breadth of the band's extreme talent. The track’s unique sound is characterised by the energetic and unforgettable chorus that sticks in your mind instantly.
The juxtaposition of soft vocals in the verses and the expressive use of the drums is incredibly impactful for the listener, creating really interesting dynamics. Although some elements of the song could be compared to the likes of early Twenty-One Pilots, with the explosiveness of the chorus and the layered instrumentation, the ethereal sound of the synth in this song gives it a lighter, fresher air.
This single teases the band's new album which is due in May 2025 and, if this song is anything to go by, its going to be a cracking record.
