In grand homage to the greats, the mysterious brainpower behind the experimental project Art d’Ecco has executed a seamless blend of classic Bluesy Psychedelia with a modern twist on Rock and Roll to offer up a cover of the Eddie & Ernie track ‘Outcast’.

The track is propelled by a sense of quirkiness; an enigmatic reworking of a song laced with big band soundscapes and howling vocals, now revelling in an out-there production style akin to the likes of David Bowie or Jarvis Cocker. ‘Outcast’ maintains its toe-tapping energies through rhythmic piano efforts and piercing vocal work. Art d’Ecco’s sense of swagger radiates into each corner of the track, with his distorted lyrical stints adopting an almost LCD Soundsystem style approach as each drum beat echoes across the crescendoing soundscape.
The sonic traditions of bounding 1960s guitar work elevate the cover even further as it transcends decades to stand as a pastiche of well-rounded instrumental talent - an admirable cover shared by a truly encapsulating, eccentric mind.
