The third single from Birmingham duo PHWOAR’s upcoming EP ‘Flowers Through The Concrete’ has arrived, and is the most infectious yet, combining an aggressive guitar riff with a danceable disco groove.

The raw and rebellious energy of the two-piece has certainly remained from their 2022 EP, and combining this with the band’s overt social consciousness makes it easy to see why they are tipped as one to watch this year. Despite its upbeat instrumental, the track has a nervous energy and warns the listener to rise up and ‘Surge’ against the injustices and struggles in today’s world.

The lines "This pie is getting sliced ever thinner / How'd the biggest bits wind up with the sinners?" show how the pair will not shy away from pointing out societal shortcomings and speaking up for what they believe in. If you’re looking for some politically aware and punchy Indie Rock, PHWOAR could be for you!
