ASAMASAMA is the brainchild of artist Rie Fu and Producer Hikaru Ishizaki who describe themselves as an alternative Art-Rock project blending sharp wit, bold satire, and a deep love for Japanese culture. Described by the band as “A fierce anthem rising from the foothills of Mount Asama", their debut single '123' makes a huge impact

Harsh guitars start this feminist tune whilst the vocals act as the leader of a rally. The harshness ceases and the vocals become melodic. The chorus introduces Wu Tang esc drumbeats and futuristic effects. The melodic vocals and rally clash and each try and gain an upper hand. As the song nears its end it garners a Techno tinge hinting at some more varied influences beneath the surface. We can't wait to hear more from this new outfit.
