American Singer /songwriter Lalia Smith has released her sophomore single ‘Diorama’, a mere month after her debut ‘The most important thing about me is that I do my best’ gathering traction and fans along the way.

Kicking off with an acoustic guitar, her delicate voice then swoops in. Musically reminiscent of Phoebe Bridgers but with her own spin, the bassline and drums bring a consistency, whilst the guitar inject a heavier nature. The breakdown before the violin introduction allows a moment of reflection, whilst the effects on the vocals puts power behind the softness.

Diorama’ touches on a one-sided relationship or from the perspective where one gives more. This is embodied in the lyrics “And if I can’t be your favourite, Ill learn to be less important.” showing the emotional depth Laila Smith reaches. A song with many elements that work together perfectly which will surely go in summertime playlist.
