Bulgarian Cartrader’s single ‘Toothpicks’ is a dynamic, layered track from his latest album ‘Greetings from Soulgaria’. After a long-awaited return, the album dropped on the 10th of October and is a whimsical medley that defines Bulgarian Cartrader’s bold new chapter.

Tracks like the electronic slow-builder 'Meditations' and the muted, groove-laden 'Palace Gates' showcase their range and knack for a rounded production, yet 'Toothpicks' is undeniably our favourite.

‘Toothpicks’ makes use of layered guitar riffs against a steady beat that lets the single build. The lyrics speak to the everyday monotony of work and the conflict that comes from feeling burnt out. The sympathetic musician behind Bulgarian Cartrader, a moniker used by Daniel Stoyanov, uses relatable lyricism which speaks to his understanding of reality and the world he observes day in, day out. While the track itself is short but sweet, the breaks and builds within ‘Toothpicks’ compel the song.

Notably, the breakdown at the end of the track asks the important questions that propel the tension between work and play that is central to ‘Toothpicks’. This single cleverly combines reality with dynamic production, bringing a fresh new track to the German Indie Pop scene.
