Australian duo, SALARYMEN release shimmering new single ‘Borrowed Time’. As the final track on the extended version of their debut album ‘Take It Or Leave It’, this track is a master stroke in how to write a deep and meaningful song, that doesn’t detract from the punch of a chorus.

In February, the rock outfit supported fellow Aussies DMA’s on their UK tour. It’s no wonder, when ‘Borrowed Time’ resembles a stark likeness to indie contemporaries Wolf Alice and Blossoms. That said, the strong melodic tendencies of Renee de la Motte’s vocals combined with tight knit drumming create a sprinkle of psychedelic star dust, unique to SALARYMEN.

Fuzzy synth lines and floaty guitar licks underline this track and together show off the musical nous of the band. ‘Borrowed Time’ is fun and joyous and with it being left off their debut album it makes you wonder, what else we’re missing.

If this is your introduction to SALARYMEN then you’re in luck. A UK tour is surely on the cards at some point later this year and if you want more, we strongly recommend listening to their 2022 single ‘Young Guns’.
