Slow Joy, the project of Esteban Flores, has been steadily releasing singles since 2020, and ‘Te Amo’, taken from his debut album ‘A Joy So Slow At Times I Don’t Think It’s Coming’, is a standout—a track that wears its heart on its sleeve.

It bursts open quickly: urgent, unfiltered, and refusing to give the listener time to catch their breath. The repeated chorus, “Te Amo”, nods to Flores’ Chicano heritage and pulses with warmth and emotional weight. It’s a simple line that becomes completely absorbing.
Blending elements of Grunge, Emo, and Shoegaze, the song channels the spirit of 1990’s Punk with something softer beneath: nostalgia and care. Midway through, the vocals fall away and the guitars bloom into a gorgeous, fuzzed-out riff that lifts the track to another level. It’s loud, tender, and completely sure of itself: a love song that surges straight through the chest.
The album also features standout tracks including the heavy-hitting Rock anthem 'Wound' and the bouncy Pop Punk hit 'Gruesome'. It's an eclectic album that uses a range of 90s/00s influences to create a poignant and punchy listening experience.
