Discover the immersive Grunge Pop of Lucy McWilliams!

If you're looking for a new artist whose music you can get lost in then look no further than Irish singer-songwriter Lucy McWilliams. Her recent single 'Plastic' marked a slight shift in sound and provided a truly immersive experience that stirs up all kinds of emotions within you.

The track opens with a dreamy, ethereal soundscape that blends echoed electronics and swooping strings with Lucy's lucid vocal lines reminiscent of a Lana Del Rey track. However, a much denser and gritty sonic texture then arrives with pounding drums and a crunchy guitar tone that really fills out the sound. This dark, Grunge energy wonderfully contrasts the crisp, melodic vocals.

The chorus melody has a bittersweet edge to it, producing a really catchy sound that sparkles with a hint of melancholia. The Arctic Monkeys esc guitar solo towards the end perfectly captures this bittersweet tone too, caressing you with a rich melodic flow.

Now, Lucy has returned with another moody yet melodic single 'Old Ways'. Sections of the track are relatively stripped back with sporadic dreamy guitar chords and a deep bassline providing a contemplative soundscape for the smoothness and beauty of Lucy's vocals to really shine through. Yet, the chorus brings a much more menacing and gritty texture to the track. A fuzzy guitar tone and pounding drum rhythm add a power and angst to her vocals that enforce this newfound edge to her music.

We love this new development of her music as it brings a drama and anthemic quality to her songs without neglecting the gentle finesse of her vocal ability!
