Philadelphia-based artist, Julia Pratt, also known as JULITH, disembarks from the Indie - Acoustic inspirations of her previous discography with recent EP ‘Right From Left’. With a refreshed aesthetic to match her evolving sound, Julia explores Electro-Pop, R&B and Rock sounds, whilst maintaining her signature angst. Each track stretches outward, building high-energy soundscapes that resist confinement to a single genre.

Title track ‘Right From Left’ kicks off the EP with electronic distortions and a wavy, off-kilter chorus that conveys the disorientation of being caught in another person’s inner conflict, captured in lyrics like ‘tell me not to go, you don’t even know why’, that are shouted with raw urgency.
‘JAB!’ leans into smoother Pop vocals, Julia’s whistle-like vocalisations softened against the punchy, distorted refrain ‘jab, jab, jab’. Lyrics like ‘I’m just another joke you took too far’ establish a narrative shaped by the invisible damage of words, building towards a vulnerable list of offences before delivering the final blow with the lyric ‘You didn’t throw a punch, but you levelled me to the ground’. ‘Cut From The Sequel’ combines overlapping harmonies with charged lyrics like ‘leave it to a man to make a woman evil’ , as a satisfying, rhyming chorus conveys restrained anger.
Final track ‘Pure Spite’ unfolds as a gritty collage of Hip-Hop beats and punchy yet playful hooks, with the chorus ‘pure spite mother*cker, that’s how I live’ capturing its defiant edge. Lyrics like ‘wanted some espresso think I heard a shot’ add an urban texture reminiscent of Doechii, while shredding guitar and manic laughter bring the track to a fittingly chaotic close.
JULITH dives head first into a bold exploration of genre and sound, traversing a wide range of themes while leaving the clear impression that she’s stepping into a more unapologetic mode of expression. It’s an EP driven by fun and reinvention, with something new to discover on every listen.
