Wasted romances, heartbreak, and fleeting love is what Brooklyn artist Belle Blue poignantly captures in her latest single, ‘Wash’. Packed with the sharp vividness of Blue’s songwriting (“Tasted like cigarettes and peach tea”), we become fully immersed in this sombre Indie tune, where the track cuts beneath the surface, going much deeper than just ‘it didn't work out, so now I’m sad’.

Through her sweet American twang, Blue’s lyricism acts as an umbrella through lines such as, “Wash it to throw it away”, and “Dancing just to fade away”. It’s not just frustration Blue speaks of, its disappointment, its anger it's the perfect amount of angst that still reveals the fondness of the memories once experienced. Amongst this, the guitar melody busts a melancholic groove, with a growling bass, and thumping drumbeats, producing this solemn sway running throughout. Closing the curtain to this track is a gorgeously bending guitar that shines while it twists and turns in all the right places, sprinkling beauty into the already gleaming track. ‘Wash’ is self-aware as it embraces the good, the bad, and the ugly within the landscape of love, and Belle Blue is certainly one to watch.
