Dutch seven-piece Son Mieux have cultivated a distinctly bright sound that is a testament to the talent of each individual. Their new single ‘Dark Before The Dawn’ is vast and exciting. Dynamic instrumentals and crisp vocals create an anthemic track full of infectious optimism.

Bouncy strings open the track with an energetic lightness, before the voices of Camiel Meiresonne and Maud Akkermans effortlessly trade lines, each one crisp and resonant, elevating and complimenting the other. The lyrics ‘Calling on the present to pass, calling on the future to unfold in my hands’, express a plea for a higher power to deliver relief from the present, with quiet hope that a brighter future is imminent. Brass contributes to the layered tone as several voices harmonise, building a rich, panoramic sound.
The repeated refrain ‘I’m counting every second, I’m counting every storm, I’m counting every sunrise’ echoes the rhythm of a countdown and captures the restless, repetitive feeling of waiting for change to come. Yet within the waiting, there is beauty all around, both in the storm and the sunrise.
Son Mieux’s new album ‘24 hours’ is set to be released on April 10th and if ‘Dark Before The Dawn’ is any indication of what's to come, we know it will be a new favourite.

I came across Native Assignment Help UK once when I was struggling with some tricky finance concepts, and…
