Canadian Post-Punk outfit bland have returned with their new exhilarating single ‘panacea’ ahead of their highly anticipated EP ‘Consumables’, which is set for release on 19th September.

The rapid paced, driving bass at the opening of the track sets the tone for the frantic, fiery energy that follows, with sirens and high-pitched guitars ringing throughout. Lead vocalist Isaac Hedenstierna blends effortlessly into the chaos, providing aggressive and striking lyricism, which explores people’s searches for what can be used as a remedy for their problems.

The group explore themes of change, particularly physically, making reference to “laceration / mutilation / amputation / operation / alterations”, creating a feel of discomfort and anxiety around the track. Mixing elements of classic punk bands such as Bauhaus and The Cure with their new and refreshing Post-Punk drive, bland are ironically anything but, and are a band to watch with the release of their EP.
