Chicago three-piece Kaput have just released their debut album 'I' which features one of our song's of the year so far, ‘Small Talk’, which combines elements of Post-Punk and Art-Rock to create a vibrant, angst-ridden sound.

Starting with fast tempo drumming and the screech of the feedback creates an industrial environment, which the band revel in. The guitars sound machine like, which combined with the rhythm system create a full-on assault on the ears of the listener. Echo effects on the vocals add to this mechanical sound. The vocals are raw and powerful bringing human nature to this industrial revolution. A Sonic Youth influence is embedded throughout.
This track is our highlight of the record but every song offers something uniquely attractive. Whether its the moody Wet Leg esc swagger and bubbling rhythms of ‘Runner’, the fuzzed-up Garage Rock of 'Sucker' or the insular artistic expressions of 'High Wire', there's so much to love on the record.
